Nairobi National Park
Nairobi National Park is 117sq km. Wide open grass plains and backdrop of the city scrapers, scattered acacia bush play host to a wide variety of wildlife including the endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and diverse birdlife with over 400 species recorded.
The park has over 50 species of mammals can be found there, including four of the Big Five with elephant species not being represented. There are about 50 lions in the park making it the 2nd densest over 100 sq.km after Masai Mara.
Exclusive Nairobi National Park Visit
Pickup at 0545 and enter park gate at 06:00 until 10:00. (best game viewing experience in this park is early – mid morning).

The KWS Headquarters is home to the Nairobi Safari Walk and The Nairobi Animal Orphanage popularly known as Nairobi Sanctuary.
Nairobi Safari Walk: A Recreation / Education Center / ZooThe Nairobi Safari Walk is a landscaped, educational zoo-like wooden boardwalk that winds through recreated habitats with uninterrupted and close-up views of wildlife. The three vibrant ecosystems are: wetland, savannah, and forest.
Animal Orphanage
Located at Nairobi National Park’s Main Gate and adjacent to the Nairobi Safari Walk, the Animal Orphanage is a rehabilitation center for injured, abandoned, or rescued wild animals.
The Orphanage provides direct, close-up viewing of rescued animals like lions, leopards, and primates. Both the Safari Walk and Orphanage are often visited together via the Nairobi Sanctuary Package, offering discounted park fees for both.
This tour is undertaken together with Nairobi National Park. Game drives start early morning in the park and unwinds at the Sanctuary
Visit AFEW Giraffe Center

The Giraffe Centre in Nairobi offers a uniquely close encounter with the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe in a calm, natural setting. Visitors can feed the giraffes by hand from a raised platform while learning about conservation efforts aimed at protecting this rare species. The experience is relaxed, educational, and perfect for memorable photographs.

Visit Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust – Elephant Nursery
Located within Nairobi National Park, the Elephant Nursery operated by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust offers visitors a rare opportunity to see orphaned baby elephants up close.
The public visiting hour runs daily from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon, during which the elephants are fed and play under the watchful care of their keepers. A live narration explains each orphan’s rescue story, place of origin, and progress toward rehabilitation.

Important Notice – Park Fees
The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) requires all visitors to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nairobi Nursery to pay the Nairobi National Park entry fee, as the Nursery is located inside the park — even if visitors do not proceed further into Nairobi National Park.

- 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon: Visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Nursery (located within the park) for close encounters with orphaned baby elephants and an educational keeper’s talk.
- 12:30 PM – 02:00 PM: Exit the park and enjoy lunch at one of Karen’s selected restaurants.
- 02:00 – 03:00 PM: Visit AFEW Giraffe Centre for an interactive experience with the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe.
